Hey guys I’ve done some homework

I came up with styrorail 2” SRP200 is EPS and has a compression rating of 16psi and water absorption of 4% per volume.

I’m building a slab on grade !

I’m doing 2 layers of 6mil poly of the compacted grad a gravel then 2” of the EPS then the concrete !

I see Owens cornering and Dow XPS has a compression of 20psi and 1% water absorption .

The reason is ask is I know my building will not exceeded 2300 Pound per square foot and the XPS around here is 145% more .

Anyone chime in ?

I recently poured a slab on grade. I used 2" thick Type 2 EPS (16psi). Concrete is 5" thick. EPS seems more common around here in residential use (Alberta Canada). Although I see a lot of XPS at comercial construction sites.
I saved about 1500$ rather than buying XPS.
I plan on driving my 14000LB Forklift on it (When loaded).
Ill report back if the slab cracks!!!

Hey guys so i ended up going with the SRP400 its good for 40psi and has a water absorption of 2% and R9.4. The price of the 30psi XPS was $48 a sheet vs the $24 for the EPS.

The company is telling me that EPS SRP200 which has a 16psi compression under the main floor will be more then enough for a 7" concrete floor with mesh and rebar ?
