I recently insulated and dry walled my 2-car but the ceiling is still only drywall. I live in IL and it gets darn cold. Problem is the better half uses the attic space for stuff and insulating it is out of the question (and I mean 100% if you know what I'm talking about guys). Can panels be attached to the ceiling and give me some kind of factor? The garage is heated.

Yes. Any home store sells these insulation supports: http://www.strongtie.com/products/connectors/IS.asp?source=misccat#

You just hold the insulation in the rafter space and jam these rods in every few feet and it holds the insulation up.

The catch is that you will need air to circulate in between that insulation and the roof, so the roofing temperature will be the same inside and out. You may have to get creative to insure this happens and keep it economical. You can get insulation guards to keep blown-in insulation away from the eve vents, but I imagine that stuff would get really expensive if you installed it under the entire roof.

Lay down fiberglass batts inbetween the floor joists and then cover with 1/2" plywood. Cut the plywood into strips if you have to for easier to handle pcs. Then your wife has a nice floor to store her precious possessions.

If the attic space is already floored you can do a drill & fill. Drill holes big enough for the blower hose end, blow fiberglass (Attic Cat or ProPink L77) in the cavity, fill the hole with a plug of styrofoam. Then you can mud & sand & paint if you want.
