My pole barn is 50 x 60, traditionally built with 6x6 posts and 2x6 purlins. I ran across 7200 s.f. of R-13 fiberglass insulation at a great price, so decided to add it to the building. The entire building (walls and roof) is covered in 1" thick foam with radiant/vapor barrier as well.
My question: I've attached 2 pictures, one without the insulation and 1 with. I have enough insulation to add it directly over the 2x4 walls seen in the picture. I would then add metal and pine to cover this. In essence there would be (2) layers of the brown insulation in the picture, with approx, 4" of air gap between them.
Will this cause moisture buildup/condensation? Please note that my entire soffit is vented and my entire ridge cap is vented as well. There is also a 2" gap extending to the ceiling between the 2 x 10's seen at the top of the wall.
I do have radiant floor heat and would like to insulate as well as possible, but also don't want to worry about mold building up from condensation between the layers.
Thanks!
