I know that this has probably been beaten to death? I have pole building insulation questions. I did search but wanted just a little more info.

The building is 30x40x12. It has horizontal 2x4's between the poles that have sheets of osb mounted to them followed by Tyvek and finished in vinyl siding to match the house.

My question is can I mount 2x4's on the inside of the building horizontally, just like the outside and mount fiberglass insulation horizontally followed by osb to finish it?

I see that most folks just frame out the inside of the building just as you would if it was a typical stick built structure and insulate vertically. why is that?

I guess I need a little hand holding and guidance to steer me to my final decision:)

Boards installed horizontally has absolutely no load bearing strength, unless properly supported vertically by studs, such at a top plate in conventional stick frame construction.

My question would be why would you want 2x4's installed horizontally at all?? But if it were me, I would at least frame the interior walls vertically and use the interior studs to support the exterior horizontal 2x4's with hurricane clips or similar. Even though the roof is supported by the poles, the walls will have to support the osb, siding, insulation, whatever material you use for the finished inside wall, etc. This can add up to a lot of weight, which I wouldn't trust to horizontal 2x4's for any length of time.

When girts are run horizontal and flat most people call them bookshelf girts or commercial style. Mine are 2x6 with 1/2" outside 7/16" inside osb ,seems sturdy it's on 24" centers .

hmmm.....I think that's what I was asking?

Can I just mirror image what the builder did for the exterior. IE. horizontal 2x4's with osb mounted to them with insulation between.

I think it's called bookshelf, girt, or commercial style?? I really think I'm becoming more confused now that I have researched the above mentioned styles?

I do not see any reason this will not work. The 2x4 are not load bearing. fill the walls with max insulation and put OSB on inside so you have a nice surface. Seems like a good plan to me. Only suggestion is make sure the insulation is attached top and bottom so it does not sag down over time.
