OK my old garage is in need of some sort of insulation and heating.
Its a 18x20 with 12 foot ceilings on a concrete pad.
The biggest issue is that its all 2x4 that are 24oc so I'm limited on the depth of material. For the doors (best way to describe them is big swing out barn doors) I'm planning weather stripping on tops and bottoms. Not sure about the overlap.
Walls I figure roll insulation and staple in place and cover with pegboard.
The ceiling is the issue. No drop ceiling or rafters to build a ceiling. I know I can't just put rolls up. So I'm thinking vents and then insulation and chicken wire over that?
I'm trying to do this as cheap as possible but I also don't want to rot the place out.
I do some reloading and casting along with any shop type work I have out there.
As far as heating right now I have a medium sized electric one but the minute I step 4-5 feet away I can feel the cold. I'm thinking either kerosene or wood burner down the road. Am I going to be wasting my money of is some insulation better than nothing?
