Insulation / Romex question

On exterior walls of by post frame shop, do I just run all the wiring and outlets, and then lay the insulation bat over the top of it all. Never thought about this till its almost time to do it...what is the standard or the "norm" if there is such a thing for this process

if your wire is centered in the wall space, split the insulation so that half is behind and half is in front. Adjust as needed to keep the insulation "fluffed".

Codes vary by state
In wi romex in a finished wall is fine drywall or plywood on inside
Il reqires conduit everywhere
If u are doing it your self no permit situation just run romex but know where it is don't pull a dumb move and later drill into it
If somone is gonna come along and inspect for ant reason check local codes
If u are not putting anything on the walls after u insulate u may want conduit or bx cable bx is not common anymore but easy to run compared to conduit and serves the same purpose and FYI u don't need a ground wire run with conduit or bx the conduit serves that purpose however that code can vary too il is all 2 wire but some places run a 3 wire in conduit
Do yourself a favor run 20 amp outlets and proper wire in a garage u plant to run a lot of tools

Normally they just put it over the wires like they weren't there. But you could cut a slice where the wires are so they lay inside the insulation if you know what I mean

Another option is to run the Romex across the tops of the rafters and drop down through holes in the top plate (tops of the walls) wherever you want an outlet/switch. Nail your Romex to the side of the vertical studs (centered of course). Don't have to worry about the Romex when installing the insulation.

Fewer drilled holes this way.

I have done the slice in the batt and push the wire into the slice trick but I much prefer to slice the insulation half way through about a foot lower than the wire, and then part the batt at the halfway point and slide the back part of the batt behind the wire. Better seal that way.
