First post. I have already gotten lots of great ideas lurking but now it's time to come out of the shadows. I am starting to move my shop from a basement to an existing attached garage. I work for a property management company I am setting up shop in an oddly shaped 1 1/2 car garage. The first order of business is to insulate. I will be using batt as it I have a large amount available, some is for 6 inch walls so I will pull it in half and need a way to attach it to the wall at least until I cover them. It appears there is no vapor barrier and the walls are simply 2x4 sheathed with an osb product that looks like vertical barn or shed siding on the outside. Do I need to put a vapor barrier over the insulation? Wall covering will be a mix of what I have on hand as I'd rather spend money on tools than other peoples property. Osb, pegboard, ply, drywall, vapor barrier only? Thanks!
The wall to the house is brick so I don't need to worry about code so much.
