I am installing insulation, I would like to know what is better to use, R11 16 inch bat with paper to staple it or the R13 16 inch bat, is it worth the money to get the R13?

Just think of it this way. The more the insulation the less it will cost to heat and maintain the temp inside. The Paper acts like a vapor barrier, so if you do the bat you will have to put a vapor barrier over that. I'm by no means an expert, just been researching it myself. I am installing R19 w paper to my walls and R 30 w paper to my ceilings. I chose bats on the ceiling over blown in (which is better), casue i will probably be spending a lot of time up in the attic installing new outlets and also have some light storage up there. If I blow if in, I will be a mess everytime I go up there.

I would go with the R13, but get the paperbacked for sure, makes it easier to put up, seeing as you can staple it up, and then no plastic is needed on the top of it
