Hey guys,

Starting to insulate my 26x32 detached garage, have a question regarding my truss. They are 2x7 1/8, on the bottow, now should I put 6 inch batts or 8 inch batts in there? The bottom of the truss is an odd size...

Bigger is better! Besides in a few years it will compress anyway. Assuming no flooring or storage in the attic...?

I'll agree on the bigger is better (till a certain point, few will get there) when it comes to insulation. Also a good point on the storage or flooring.

Insulation is an investment that will continually pay for itself as long as you own the place.

There's a flooring 11 feet wide all trought the lenght of the garage. So that leaves about 7 feets each side with no flooring. I guess were's the flooring there's no use going with 8 inch? Is it Worth it ? Also what type vapor barrier should I be looking for? One place is selling a 1500 square feet role 70$ and the other place 40$, there's got to be something not the same?
