Just finished a 40x60 pole barn with concrete floor. I used 2" foam insulation board around the exterior and used 1" foam board under concrete floor. Dont have radiant heat but just did the insulation to be safe ....

But id like to finish the interior with the same metal siding thats on the outside. Its going to be a nice shop to work on cars & motorcycles, etc etc. I plan on finishing the ceiling as well. Ceiling height is 12' but is straight across, NO scissor truss.

wondering if spray foam is the way to go or what. I heard it has the best R value but its expensive.

Not sure what method of heating/cooling Ill be using yet. Still investigating the numbers & functionality of wood/pellet stove, propane, waste oil heater, etc etc

Foam has great performance specs but it is unreasonably expensive. There are plenty of more economical ways to finish out the walls/ceiling in a pole barn. I used batts for the walls and will blow in the ceiling.

There are some sneaky ways to blow cellulose into the walls as well but I don't know how much pressure your wall metal can take without bulging.

Did you put any insulation under the roof? What material is the roof.
Is there space between the ceiling and the roof? Is it a flat roof?

Why would blown cellulose insulation bulge a wall? I don't think it's under pressure.
