The OP asked about insurance.

The posters can think what they want -- it's not going to be paid by the neighbors company. 60+ wind can do a lot of damage ... even when properly installed.

If he gets someone else to pay ...... great.

This stuff happens around our shore house all the time ... very bad winds. Last year a guy on the block behind us had a late season party .. and his chairs and umbrellas ended up on top of my friends new pool cover .. destroying it. The owner of the house is not paying -- my friend is thinking of taking him to court for trespassing .........he damaged other stuff trying to get his things out of my friends yard ... it is what it is.

Understand and be prepared ... finding out later and getting mad ... not a good system.

Why don't you "man up" and fix it on your dime?

You were too cheap to pay for a low deductible policy and now feel someone else, ie the taxpayers, should bail you out.

Entitlement at its finest.

You're right about manning up, but it's not the OP that needs to "man up".

It isn't his junk that caused the damage, it either belongs to the neighbor (K9 officer), local law enforcement agency or city. Junk that blew into the OP's property during a storm for a second time. The junk owner failed take care of a situation that has already created a previous issue.

The OP is entitled to have his property fixed on the junk owners dime (at bare minimum paying his deductible) The damage was due to a property owner's negligence and a lack of responsibilty for not properly securing the junk after it was proven that it could blow out of their yard.
