Inswing door pole barn -- jamb questions

We have 3 ply 2x6 columns used in our barn, I did accidentally purchase a 2x4 construction exterior door (in swing).. obviously when it swings in it can't open past 90 degrees or atleast not much past because it hits the column.. I'm going to purchase another door, and they offer jambs for 2x6 construction or a 7-1/4" jamb... I was looking to see what some recommended in my situation, thanks!

P.s. I was leaning towards the 7-1/4 but I'll wait and see what some of the experts chime in with! Thanks again

Site-build the jamb and install the door I have would be my solution, but that requires appropriate tools and expertise. Absent those, the correct door with factory jamb is probably the fastest and easiest path to success.

I recently choked at the extra 120 bucks for a 2x6 door so just went with the 2x4 one and set it further back. You just need to make extensions for the outside.

I'll be out there today I'm going to measure again... I feel like the 7-1/4 jamb made sense last time I looked at it... But again it is 3ply 2x6 construction so I'm not sure... Do you by chance have pictures of what you did? My thoughts were if I just grab a door with the wider jamb, it eliminates a lot of extra work... I can remove the current door, replace with wider jamb and I'm done.

I used a 2X4 door for the 12" thick walls in my basement, and just made very long jamb extensions.
I guess I could just buy the door jamb extension kit... Cheaper and it doesn't look too complicated

If the jambs are typical 3/4" material, you can set it back to where it needs to be, add more 3/4 board to create a wider jamb and wrap it with coil stock so it looks like one piece.

I had extra pvc material from my trim work that i installed so zero cost for me. Maybe 20 min of work to save 100 bucks. I also wanted it moved in as far as possible as my stem wall would interfere with full opening and i got another 20 degrees putting it an inch further in then the stock door looked to be. Good luck.
