I recently bought a new to me, '70 Camaro RS. Swore I'd never buy something sight unseen, but such was the case w/ this purchase. Problem, car was in Sacramento, Ca, and i live in eastern Pa. Dealer i bought from recommended a truck broker from Iowa i believe. They deal w/ about 6000 different truckers, from mom and pop operations to owner operators. I read a bunch of reviews, and most were positive, but there were some not so positive. Their price, about $1500. I quoted Reliable Carriers, you see them at all the big auctions on TV, and i believe them to be one of the big 4 enclosed car carriers in the country and they were $2300. Then i quoted Intercity Lines, another of the big 4, and they were $1895. So i went w/ Intercity. It took them a couple weeks to get a truck in the area for pickup, which i understand is quite normal. God forbid if you want it moved during 1 of the big auctions is going on. Joe, the driver picked it up on a Friday, spoke w/ him on Monday and he said he'd probably be here around noon that coming Friday. Spoke again w/ him on Friday morning and he was about 150 miles away. Ended up getting here at 11am Friday morning. As you can see from the pics, the car had a car cover on it w/ a plastic cover over that. Car was secured to the trailer w/ over the tire straps, instead of the usual straps to the frame or suspension. Great move, fair price. I was only nervous about what the car was actually going to look like, since i had bought it from pics on the net. Never had a worry about the carrier. Hey, it's who Jay Leno uses, and you know what kind of cars he has.
