interesting 1880-ish Diamond wrench

picked this today, its has a broken jaw but when i saw the Nov 2, 1880 patent date i figured i should grab it. Not much different from the adjustable wrenches of the time, except for the "speed handle" . From my patent searching it looks like it was patented by the Portland Wrench in 1880, and then again in 1883 with improvements. Know anything abut the Company? you guys have one or seen one?

It looks as though Mr. Thompson made some improvements on that model and was granted a later patent as well.

pretty neat to see the differences. I wonder if that makes some 'early' and some 'later'. This one had no company markings , only the patent date.

Yes, neat find. It seems like maybe they shrunk it down later on. Pretty cool with the patent date.
