Interesting axe or forging tool?

Not really sure why I bought this, I have no Idea what it is. There was an awesome estate of an axe and hammer collector. This thing kind of has the shape of an axe… I guess I thought maybe it was some type of mold that you used when forging an axe that would give you the right shape. But havent seen anything similar. Any ideas what it could be? Its heavy weighs about 22lbs

Ashtray. Sort of an inside joke for those of us old enough to have made an ashtray in high school shop class.
When pepople still needed ashtrays.
And high schools still had shop class.

I've got it! It's one half of a pair of bookends. The little hook on the end holds it against the shelf.
