Did HUSKY actually make this?
I don't know, but I have a pair that looks fairly similar to that one.

The resemblance makes sense, since Husky was a New Britain brand from the late 1930's through the 1970's. Those can't be older than the late 1950's, as that's when the quick release lever showed up. I don't know who the OEM was. It's not Petersen, Samson, or Seymour Smith, by shape anyway. There are not enough sticks to shake at all the mfgrs who made a version of the "vise grips."
EDIT: If you're really curious, you might try poking around in DATAMP. All the various makers and models are linked in the "locking pliers" and "pliers type wrenches" area. So you can jump around from patent to patent and maybe see this variant.
