I would not spend any of my time or money on that drill-press. It may work for you, but it is too small for anything I do in my shop. Check for spindle speed. It may too fast for drilling larger than .125"

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR MODEL # 600 AUTOMATIC GEM DRILL
The model #600 drill is designed to drill medium to soft gemstone material. The drilling action is automatic and does not have to be manually controlled. The electronic field of the motor raises and lowers the chuck automatically 1/4 inch. The light downward pressure of the feed prevents damage to diamond coated drill bits, but it does result in longer drilling time.

1/50 HP, 115V, 60 Hz 3040 rpm. 1/4" Jacob chuck, 1-1/2 and 2 mm drill tubes, cleaner, plastic putty, grit ring (ferrule), and guarantee. Size: 6"L X 4"W X 13"H. Shipping weight approximately 10 lbs. $285

Might be a useful tool for a modelmaker or someone making small engines who is drilling small holes, where the higher drilling speeds are useful. Drilling holes 1/16" and smaller goes better with a higher speed tool.
