Interesting Old riveted C clamp

cheap tag sale find. Pretty cool. The thread 'screw' is one piece, and the C Clamp body is riveted together. No manufacturer markings. Fully open is about 2" and Closed is 1" found a pic of one online, but no information.

Never seen one. Judging from the short screw, it was used for a specific purpose, but who knows what.

All mine get beadblasted and painted.

For wooden quilting frames - they never have to close up tight on thin materials, only the wooden frame pieces.
