I have been accumulating odd and older wrenches, and picked up quite a few different models over the last couple of months. Thought I would share a few, and see what the forum thinks of them....bear with me, there are a lot of pics!

First pics are of a couple sets of BMW and Mercedes Benz marked metric wrenches. I *believe* these came in some older cars, but not sure which models or what years.

Speaking of car manufacturers, the following is an interesting Bonney angled 14mm wrench.

This is also a rather interesting older wrench. The marking looks to be USMC, but its not like any military marked wrench I've ever seen.

This is definitely an odd one, is marked for both standard and metric...has slightly different sized jaws on either side. 11/16 & 19/32 on one side, 15 & 18mm on the other.

Here's another double sided model, an Eagle Brand that was made in England. 3/4 & 7/8 on one side, 7/8 & 1" on the other.

I have a few of those indestros that are not stamped indestro, but are obviously indestros. Cool old wrenches, starting to get a nice collection going there.

^ Easily identified: "Select Steel" and the "dart-shaped" ends on the panels.
Indestro copyrighted that "streamlined" design. See http://alloy-artifacts.org/duro-indestro.html#indestro-streamline

There are millions of them out there- they were sold to Indestro's private-label accounts like Montgomery Ward, Western Auto, and others.

The BMW wrenches you have came in the trunk tool kits circa 1980's. They were most comonly made by Heyco.

Cars like the E30, E24, E28, etc would have had them standard.

Jason- Nice assortment, As time has gone on, I have acquired an assortment of older wrenches. One day, I'll get around to taking pics and cataloging them.

Keep it up. So few folks, outside of GJ, care about saving history

the "Forged Select Steel" models (in post #5) are Indestro

Thanks. I have a pair of USMC pliers, and I knew they were not military (I had looked into this in the past), but couldn't find a link to the actual manufacturer now.

Those MB wrenches look a lot like the pattern I've seen from Gedore.

Speaking of car manufacturers, the following is an interesting Bonney angled 14mm wrench.

Chrysler rewarded techs with all sorts of Bonney tools. Every once in a while on eBay, I'll see gold plated stuff like that.

not sure your definition of "older" cars, but those MB wrenches were supplied in the trunk at least through the late 90's, and probably later than that.

I've picked up Mercedes Benz wrenches from Dowidat, Matador and Walter, as well as Heco BMW for cheap at flea markets here in Germany. They are far from rare over here and are usually around a Euro each for decent ones so I am trying to collect one of every size/brand just for kicks. I think I am up to 9-10 wrenches in sizes 8, 10, 11, 13, 17 and 19 plus one or two I may have missed. I haven't researched if other companies made car tool kit wrenches so I don't really know what's out there- Holy Grails, etc. Did Audi/VW carry special wrenches? I think Porsche used Hazet but I don't know if they were standard wrenches or had Porsche markings.

MAcarbon sourced this AMG Snap-On limited edition tool set from Japan for a special customer. This tool set is only available in Japan and was limited to 200 sets. Due to the week United Stated Dollar and the cost of shipping, it ran about $2,200! Its a very nice tool set but….

I'm thinking that some of them that have a "W" - like the rusty one in post 3 - might be Whitworth, but I'm not sure. Anyone know?
