This is in a random tool drawer at my new job.

Old OTC 1/2 breaker bar. Has 5 position flex head with spring loaded drive. Interesting straight fluted grip like Blackhawk. Has cross bar hole and female drive on the end of the handle. Very crude forging, but tough. Anyway, thought I'd share.

These are very popular bars for WW2 GMTK collectors. The Federal stock number was 41-H-1500 and they were shown in military pictures of the sets.

Has cross bar hole...
...that is a 1/2" I.D. for a 1/2" O.D. 10-inch long cross bar! You can see it in position G in the figure from the manual that Don has re-posted. Not an easy bar to find. And a consternating spec that persisted in later editions of the manual despite its ramifications. (All other suppliers, some of whose 1/2-inch socket drive tools can be seen used in the same Raritan Arsenal Publications Dept image, were making hinge handles with much smaller holes for much smaller cross bars - typically 7/16" or 3/8".)

That hinge handle and the figure have been posted in a few OTC threads before, here, and here, but I never get tired of looking at it! It's an icon!

I admire and appreciate the way you highlighted and showed its construction and function, dave. But the best part of your post is where you found it. Not a flea market. Not fleaBay or an estate sale. But a random drawer in a working shop! That it was never discarded is a testament to its imperishability! :)

Good find. That one looks hardly used. I like stout square end on the Owatonna drive tools. Seems like it's more square and robust than other brands.
