I was at my local Grainger yesterday and in the back I seen this cool red Durham drawer cabinet. At least I think it's cool. Asked the counter guy if they are for sale. He said it just came in and they are not for sale to the public.:(

I decovered a long time ago that sometimes the guy behind the counter can be mistaken. So when I got home I looked on line and found this

:D

Too pricey for me dammit.

Got to thinking :headscrat so i looked around at Zoro and they have them also. Still too pricey. It is interesting that the one's at Zoro say Grainger also.

Anyone else hate trying to find things at Zoro?

I WANT ONE !!
Hope Zoro has another big 40% off sale. That would put it in my price range,

I've used those cabinets/drawers and they are nice, never had to buy a drawer, they always came free with a parts assortment, if you got free drawers I'd say the cabinet is worth $92.

I work for a bolt supply MRO company and we sell the Durham units. The roller cabinet i see in the Granger link is the light duty Durham cabinet. We don't even use them anymore. The newer Heavy Duty Durhams with the ball bearing roller slides are rated at 75lbs per drawer.

The cabinet cases are designed to be stacked a maximum of 3 cabinets height, just like in the Picture you posted.

Ours are more like this http://www.durhammfg.com/item.html?id=1069 but slightly deeper.

So Alan, at what point would you supply the bins for the hardware? Is there a contract timeframe for restock, a specific value of purchase, or something else?

If you've got an account at the majors (Fastenal, Grainger, etc) its easy to squeeze freebies...
I got all 8 drawer units free, along with the cabinet thingies too...Deal was buy the contents and get the drawer free...buy 4 in one shot and get the free cabinet to hold em all. Worked out excellent for me...I've also got a set of the small ones.
