Interesting Snap-On Tool Cart

I bought this cart at an estate sale yesterday and didn't think too much of it. It was covered in tools and junk. I got it home today and thought it sure felt top heavy when loading it. I cleaned it up and bit and noticed handles on the side of the drawers... that's odd. Check the numbers... KR-488 and KRA-429, both from 1989. The prior owner must have bolted this mid box to the top of the cart

If you look close you'll see adapter plate between the cart and the box. I did this years ago and it worked great.

Ahh... you are right. I didn't know they offered such a thing.

I had to change mine over to a Matco cart after awhile. The snapon had folded handles that cracked after time. The Matco's handles are radiused.

Not as unusual as you think. When we bought our house, the owner left behind one just like that, though not as nice.

I like the side shelf with it.

i still have a SO 2 shelf cart i bought back around '97 or so...

i was too cheap to buy the adapter, i bolted a lyons 3 drawer mid box under mine.

the cart is still in use today, but "repurposed" as a base for my benchtop drill press....

Are these adapter plates made out of wood??? I have one of these carts and mine has a wood plate in the front and rear.
