Can anyone help me ID these stands. It took me a minute to figure out their operation, as they’re filled with some sort of media, be it sand or more likely an iron-based media?

The way they work is you raise the top piece to your set height and while doing so, the internal media settles into the lower leg, creating the base for the top piece, making them very “adjustable”. The top section then settles firmly into place. The stand is lowered by turning it upside down allowing the media to return to the top section allowing them to get fully shortened.

There’s remnants of a vertical oval brand name sticker, but not enough to make out.

Anyone have any info?

I think someone like Private Lugnutz might be able to I.D. the logo shape and colors, and possibly even the design. Searching for patents on the design may be the way to naming the product's manufacturer. Here's an old one I have & probably 60+ years old. I posted about it in another thread, and I found a catalog of service station supplies which had it in there. You might try looking in that catalog to see if you spot anything similar to your design. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/1940s-joyce-lifts-and-shop-equipment.84751/#post-8605845

I believe the patent search may bear the most results.

Yeah I’m sure that someone here has the ability to identify them… As I have found no way of locating them myself even with my black belt and Google Fu. I have a set just like that one you have picture that I use all the time

Sand filled jack stands were mentioned in this thread
They were also mentioned in this tread (on another forum)
And here
Thanks for the post, unfortunately the mention of the stands only prove I’m not the only one to discover them.. the search shall continue..

I think that magazine page image could either be THE jacks or a copy.. thanks for that-my best lead yet!! 👍👍
