Interesting vintage tool chest on CL

Hammacher Schlemmer had some great stuff in their old catalogs. I don't know what those work benches sell for either, but there was one near me a few months ago for $400. It was missing the right fold out door though.

You bring up a question I had. This would be considered a work bench? I realize that the area below has the pegged holes (dogs?).

Not so sure that is over priced, to the right tool collector that could seem a bargain.

That is cool as heck. A buddy made a copy of a Melhuish, right down to the vintage vise. Corrected a few minor design flaws. If you were working in a house or apartment, that would be a fantastic bench.

You must be in the Denver metro area . I was cruising Craigslist and saw that as well. Would it be difficult to sit at, where do you put your legs?
