I have solar lights in my 12 x 24 storage trailer.
I have an 85 watt solar panel, 12 volt deep cycle battery, charge controller, and an inverter.
The trailer is wired for 110 v. I justput a plug on the wires coming into the shed and hooked to the inverteer.
I just use 2, 100 watt bulbs, as I am only in the shed for 10 minutes or less.
I could do it without the inverter, if I used 12 volt lights.
The reason, I went overboard (hate using that term) is I had it left over, after selling my sailboat.
Panel was $400 ( current price is much less)
Charge controller was $150
Inverter was $75
Battery was $100.
For just a couple of lights used for short periods, a couple of 12 volt LED's with a deep cycle battery (std battery would work if you didn't discharge it very much, which 2 LED's for short periods wouldn't)
A small cheap low output solar panel would do the job, without worry about over charging. No need for charge controller.
If I had to do it again, for occasional light for short periods, I would buy the $19.95 garden tractor battery Walmart sells, and a 2 amp ($20) solar charger, and a couple of cheap LED lights.
Sure is easier if power is available!
