Good morning,

Just recently started process of finishing interior of barn and I’d like it to be functional but also have a vary nice look to it. I’m 99% sure I’ll do a black ceiling however on the walls and loft I’d be interested in how you guys would finish those areas. All white may be the way to go but I’m open to some ideas where to set off the interior by adding another color in certain areas.

Thanks again and have a good weekend

Black ceiling is fine, light will not be affected unless you purchase lights made in the 60's. I hear this all the time on here and if you guys can't see with todays incredibly intense LED lighting, you may have some issues. I bought cheap lights from costco and its like staring at the sun...

All white is to sterile for me. I have light grey drywall on three walls, silver wainscotting panels the lower 3' and one wall with rooms is T&G amber shellac. Ceiling I did go white panels because of the color choice, I don't think black or grey would have looked right. Very happy with it so far.

Mine looks better than yours on the inside but I really like the outside of your building. Great color choices! The outside of mine looks like **** :D I didn't build it though.

Any color combination will look nice as long as it's all white :lol_hitti

I've been in a few shops with non white walls and they seem strange to me. One with grey walls and a black ceiling was actually pretty nice.

Even though the black ceiling won't really affect the lighting you'll likely need to put in some extra effort to black out your light fixtures. The shop I was in with a black ceiling has white fixtures and it looked really strange.

Looks like a sharp building !!

If you had time could ya shoot me a picture of it. I had been looking into a light grey maybe on walls or a charcoal wainscoting inside to match the outside grey

Yeah I'll snap one when I'm out. I was actually cruising the gallery for motivation to continue installing the ceiling panels!

Black ceiling sounds great. I reckon continuing that exterior 2 tone inside would look really classy, but maybe go a few shades on the upper section to help brighten things up a little.

Many fixtures are designed with up lighting. It helps avoid the cave effect. A black ceiling will look that way even with a ton of up light

Dryfall paint a Id try for a gray ( like a battle ship gray ) color, Dark enough to hide the dirt
Black works but It’s really dark /heavy feeling

Go w/ a white walls if your really dirty add a band of Really light gray to accent the ceiling.

Dont do white on the ceiling it will show all kinds of dirt dust cob webs etc…

run all your cross bracing and light attachments and airlines etc and then paint it out. And then set the finish - lights & ceiling fans etc
