I will soon be painting g the inside of my new shop. The walls are LP smart siding. I‘m Assuming I should use exterior paint for extra durability. Is that. Or recut.

thanks

The only reasons I could see to use exterior paint is your paint needs the UV protection or it's always damp in there or already have it and it's a shop.

I am certainly not a paint expert but I have always thought that exterior paint is made to sort of "self clean" which is why it "chalks" after a while ?

When I painted the inside of my business we used a good Benjamin Moore semi gloss white interior paint over a block sealer. It gets totally abused but still cleans up nicely 20 years later.

If you have a real paint store in your area stop in and ask them what they recommend. Or do a little research on the paint manufacturers web sites.

Exterior paint is formulated to handle mildew and fading. Interior paint, on the other hand, is made to allow cleaning and resist staining.

Agreed. Exterior paint is also formulated to be more flexible due to temperature and humidity extremes. Interior paints don't necessarily need that flexibility, especially if it's used where there is any kind of controlled environment. The extra attributes of exterior paint also make it, generally, more expensive.

I'll be painting the inside of my garage soon, and I'll go full interior paint even without air conditioning.
