Interlocking tile

I have been looking for the past few days at different interlocking tile floors. There seems to be a tremendous selection of vendors selling these at all different price ranges. I have looked over several threads and have come to a few conclusions. I don't want the perforated tiles. I live in the South, so snow melt is not an issue. I am just going to use this shop to store my Camaro. There will be maintenance stuff and cosmetic detailing done in here but not much else. I only want to do this once, but I want the best deal I can get. Suggestions please.

Good morning. Interlocking tile is like buying a car. we need to fit the tiles to your needs. If you went into the dealership and told the guy you live in Colorado, have a 5th wheel and a boat and you came away with a Mustang you would have a great car but but a terrible car for you.

'a shop to store....' If this is just a storage place that you want to look good, both TrueLock and RaceDeck offer an inexpensive tile that will do the trick. All Garage Floors did a write up recently http://allgaragefloors.com/best-cheap-garage-tiles/

There are lots of questions and lots of things to go over. You mentioned you live in the south. What direction does the overhead door face? Do you spend a lot of time in the garage with the overhead door open?

Other than the vehicle, what else is stored in there and what equipment do you use? Do you do a lot of work on the car in there?

I chose a more economical interlocking garage flooring tile. I went with the TrueLock diamond and got it from Garage Flooring LLC. It has met my needs nicely. Yes, it will mostly be used to store my Camaro. The main door faces west - north west. I will spend a fair amount of time in the garage with the door open. I will store all of my car washing/detailing equipment, my extra wheels and tires, and probably a few tools. This shop will be strictly for Camaro related activities only. This is a secondary shop built just for it! I will wrench on my car some. A jack and jack stands will most certainly be used. I will most likely wax my car inside, but probably wash it outside. I like the looks of the free-flow tiles, but this is a fair weather only car and i would worry about dropping things in the gaps. Solid faced tiles are the direction for me.

I don't want to spend my entire budget for the building on the flooring, but like I stated earlier, I don't want to spend money on the floor more than once. I have looked into epoxy, but for just a little more money I can do the tiles. I feel they will last longer for my situation. I have a price from the company that begins in R and ends in K, but I found different prices on here and I am not sure I am getting all the truth. They haven't answered my PM's either!

When you are looking at garage floor tiles, west facing garage, or south facing garage, especially when talking about working a lot with the door open, the first thing I think about is expansion and contraction issues http://www.garageflooringllc.com/expansion-and-contraction/

The second thing I start to think about is the car washing. Washing cars on solid tiles, especially dark solid tiles can leave a residue and then you are spending your time cleaning your garage floor instead of playing with your toy

Everyone freaks out about an open tile until they install it. Stays so much cleaner, much more slip resistant and this specific tile I have not ever had a single expansion and contraction issue. The tan (Mocha Java) one is installed in some very troublesome conditions in Florida and has performed amazingly well.

Yes, I received to PM. I received a sample of the diamond style flooring this week too. I am weighing my options now trying to decide what direction I wish to go. I still have tons of other things to decide on as well. My shop is just an empty metal shell now. No lights, insulation, shelves, etc. Blank slate!
