Hey guys.

I have this photo control switch that is supposed to be tied into my outdoor lights. I had removed it awhile back because I was using a timer for my lights, and this switch would mess w/ the timer. Well, long story short... the timer broke, and I want this switch put back in. however, I don't remember how it goes, lol.

There's 3 wires: black, red, and white on this switch, no wiring diagrams. I believe the white will go to the white wires on the house, and the other two will go to the "hot" from the light switch, and the other wire to the lights. Am I correct in this assumption.

Here's the cell that I'm using if it helps.

FWIW, I could not find any wiring diagrams for this.

Thanks for posting this manual. The lights on the photo control works intermittently. Some nights they come on, other nights they do not. What is the consequence of the sensor directly facing the midday sun? It may need to be replaced, but prehaps shading it would do the trick? Thanks. . .

is there any other light, at a neighbors house or something, that could be hitting it? I would try shading the photocell.

Photocells are generally installed so they face north, if possible. If you think you're getting interference from other lights you could try fitting a short section of tubing to the sensor of an appropriate diameter to fit over the sensor.

There could be interference from other lights--I'll try shading it or something. Unfornately, the south-facing photo sensor came with the house. The tubing might work...thanks...
