Hello everyone I'm posting this thread here because I felt more people will see it that have a need for a flat belt source for their old machines and seems to me more old metal working machines use flat belts more than woodworking machines. I PMed an admin and he gave me the ok but he can always move it if ihe feels it needs to be seen elsewhere. I hope he'll pin it to the top because I feel after much searching these guys would benefit others by saving you money.........only time will tell.

I thought I would share a new source for you guys that need flat belts at a reasonable price. In my searching the web looking for a flat belt for my 11” Logan Metal Lathe I found most of the time flat belts were ridiculously costly for a 1”x40”x3ply flat belt. Most prices I found ranged anywhere from approx $30 to as high as $80 for the same belt which I felt was a total ripoff especially when shipping and handling was added anywhere from $15 - $25 on something that once rolled up could fit into a padded envelope or flat rate shipping box for around $5. With the added high shipping cost it just made the cost of a flat belt just all that much higher and I felt these companies were just padding their own pockets with the high shipping costs added when I knew damn well shipping shouldn’t cost that much for such a small item. Lame excuses I mostly got was they only used UPS or Fedex and couldn’t put a small item into a less costly package and/or weren’t willing to and/or their computers wouldn’t allow it. I know theres some deals on EVilBay but if you are like me and totally despise Ebay, paypal and anything else associated with them then please continue reading.

Finally I found a reasonable company willing to work with me. They are “International Belt and Rubber Supply” in Auburn, Washington. They have a minimum order of $25 but the shipping for UPS from Washington to California came out to $15 which I thought was ridiculous since a company on the east coast wanted the same $15 to ship the same item across the USA ….. So after complaining and talking it over about the unreasonable shipping rate they were finally willing to ship my belt to me in a flat rate box costing me only $6 so my flat belt total cost was just $31 w/shipping! Quite a deal I felt from the research I did. I talked to a guy named Karl Trumble and he said he would be willing to work with guys from the Tool Forums. Their website is : http://www.intlbeltandrubber.com/

......and phone # 800-426-5526 …ask for Karl and tell them what tool forum you’re from and if you found them thru my thread. Let us know if you were treated right and perhaps we have a new reasonable place to order our flat belts for our old machines and still save a few $$. Of course depending on the size of the belt and bigger belts will add to the shipping costs please let us know if things worked out for you if you order from them and if the experience was a positive one. Give them a try and please post some feedback....so far the impression I get from them is a positive one.

Below is pictured my small order I got.......shipping costs for orders like this shouldn't equal or even exceed what the item costs in most cases so if you're tired of being raped by company shipping costs including Ebay when there's cheaper alternatives then I hope these guys will work with everyone here.
