Nice box... that's the one I've been tempted to get. I have a top box that should match. Any chance you could provide exact measurements of the top surface (so I can make sure my top box will be an exact fit)?

I have that box - I paid $300 at TSC, nice box
The top is 18.5 inches by 41.25 inches.
The top draw can is 3 5/8 inches deep but you can put something 4 1/4 inches high in it. I keep all my 1/2 inch drive sockets in it - the deep sockets stand up without any clearance problems.

This thread bugs me... Lol. I'm also a member over at the Binder Planet fourm for international harvester produced vehicles... Everytime I see this thread I go "oh... And IHC tool box" and then I realize that it has nothing to do with a vehicle... I know there are a few other guys on here that frequent that forum as well!

I am hoping to use this toolbox on a 1970 International Harvestor Pickup truck. My parents bought it new but it needs serious love....any good advise for getting parts?

Thread Jack!!! Haha. You can find most parts through the affiliates of binder planet.com... I believe that scoutparts.com has a lot of parts from the truck still. Pm me some info on the truck! I also have a small spare psrts selection...'. Out here our local independent parts house "eds auto parts" has never failed tto get me what I need. They have old catalogs for referencing. Also for electrical parts... Most items will cross reference from a gm/delco-remy part... Just hit me with a pm.

NO THREAD JACK!! Just a question related to my International box! Which I am very impressed with...which is built in Canada....glad I didn't get the HF box!
I also have the older version of the top box, it does not have the ball bearing slides but it is heavier built and the old friction draw slides are actually smoother than the ball bearing slides on the bottom box and many other boxes I have seen.

Bringing this thread back up.I seen this setup listed on the Sears website now.They are 42" wide but have all full width drawers instead of just one full width drawer,and the other narrower drawers.I've yet to decide if having all the drawers full width is a good idea or not,but it may be,although the total number of drawers is only 9. There is the International version,but also the Craftsman version for roughly $100 more for each.Sears list these as "Professional Tool Storage". I don't know about that,any opinions on these?

They are definetly not "professional tool storage"...they are no SO box. The drawersliders are hard to get into their locked position...when you do, there is a lot of tool movement. If you move it a lot without the drawers locked, the drawers would open a bunch. With this level of box, I think there will always be things that aren't perfect. I am a DIY'er so its not a problem for me. They are nicer then the crapsman box of late and made in Canada. I don't think the extra $100 for the cmans name is worth it...they are te same box as the international box for less. I would say they are on par with the HF box.
I got mine at Sears.com and I am glad I didn't get the big drawers only. The smaller are nice for little stuff, but aren't that small. But if you don't mind everything sharing the space then it wouldn't be a problem. I think its a quality box for the level that it is. I have seen in person the higher level boxes...they are more like an SO box and they are sweet...but very pricey!
I actually bought the top for mine off of Amazon for $232...which also sells the bottoms with more drawers. It has the gas struts on the top unlike the Sears models. However, I was warned by another member that Amazon shipper beat the **** out of the box and had big problems with them...which is what happened to me.
They are sending me a new one through UPS, so we will see. For $200 bucks, I will keeping sending them back until they get it right. Right now, I can't suggest Amazon until this get resolved.

Kippieland - that's a hell of a deal for that top box. Cheapest I've seen for a new one before now is $400. I paid $70 for a bent one.

We have a 56" top & bottom chest, and the 7 drawer side chest, and are pretty happy with it. Like others have said, it's no Snapon, but it was considerably more affordable

I have filled the box up already, and on the drawers I use more often, it no longer needs as much effort to "close" the drawers. I have not had any problems with any of the drawers opening whenever I have moved it.
The box I got was bought from Sears Canada.
I hope to get the matching top box later this year.

It was about as bent, but in a different location... the right bank of drawers was pushed up about a half inch at the corner. A pipe clamp and some lumber for it to clamp against pulled it back in line, tho there's still some wrinkles from being bent, and some dings from me carelessly pounding on it.

Finally got an acceptable box from Amazon. Still a little bent, but I can fix it this spring after some insight from Jawn.

Keep, you bought your box from NAPA? Did they market it as their own box? I don't see the international plate on it. It looks exactly like the 56" one from sears and the craftsman 56" looks strikingly similar too. The craftsman even comes with the aluminum corner pieces. I imagine they make some slight cosmetic changes to re-brand them...
I think I'm going to go ahead with the sear purchase of the International VRB5610 and VRT5606. I almost went with TheToolStore.ca as their prices are the absolute best I could find but, the shipping is the only question with them. The beat quality tools for less but, again, the shipping question never got answered. The sears deal is the best right now with the 30% off, and free shipping. Of course I do have to pay taxes. So, deliver to my door would be $1300 for both pieces. Not bad right?

I'd keep going till they got it right! I know it is a great price but, they never advertised it having nay issues, right?

I agree with you. I sent two of them back...actually one back, the other UPS wouldn't deliever it because of damage. The third one arrived in a perfect box other then some small package damage from the warehouse guys pushing it on the floor(I used to work in warehouse, so I know what they do.) Other then that the package was perfect compared to the other ones that I had sent back. After getting it up on my bottom box, I could see there was a little damage on the right corner, but after talking with Jawn (GJ member) I knew it wouldn't be to hard to straighten. So I kept it. I just got tired of dealing with Amazon frankly. I think they were taking it off of it pallet and then shipping it...it weights 120lbs. I know Sears would have delievered it on a pallet....thats why it was getting damaged IMO. I only paid $231 out the door for it so, I can't complain to much...if it were full price, I would have refunded it and bought something esle.
Heres a pic of it straightened. Its not perfect but for what I use it for it will work great...I am confident Sears will handle yours right!
