Saw a tool chest branded "International" at Home Depot, has a drawer that needs the slides replaced. No discount offered, told it was "under warranty". Doing a little google-fu, it seems that this company (SPX International) went out of business in 2020, making the warranty worth less than the paper it's printed on. Obviously I did not buy the box, but curious since they have what looks to be the identical box (other than color) labeled Husky. Possible that HD is selling a bunch of orphan/unsupported stuff?

I have a international as my overflow/less used tools at work and it's pretty decent for what it is. International was also the maker for husky from my reading at the time just different colors and badges. I've had mine going on 2 years now and no issuesIMG_20220119_102738591_HDR.jpg

I had purchased a Husky Tool chest from the Home Depot and after a couple of years from putting too much weight into the drawer, one of the slides broke. I took the slide off the drawer and then I called Home Depot only to find out that the Box was discontinued and the drawer slides were unavauble. They said that I would have to look online for replacements. The only markings on the slide were the name Aodeli. I did some searches and was able to find a set on eBay and they were a perfect fit. As you see in the picture the front of the slide had a triangle bump-out that snaps into the side of the drawer.

I'm not much help, just here to brag. I bought one of the Husky branded models damaged from my local HD, it looked like somebody got into 3 of the drawers with a forklift. I offered the store manager about 25% of what they sold for at the time, and he bit. The next time I stopped in, I saw where somebody had returned an identical box for warranty, it was still sitting behind the customer service counter. I asked if they would swap me for my damaged drawers, and they did. I wound up with a flawless model for 75% off.

In the right place at the right time twice in a week...

This has been a good box for me in my home garage, too.

Home Depot used to distribute international boxes years ago. I bought my two international boxes from them. They must have someone making boxes for them again and using the international name because they were unavailable for about a year and a half and then all of a sudden they were available again. I doubt it is old stock or orphaned product because SPX sold off all their inventory cheap when they went under. I would assume the warranty is through Home Depot as it would be a house brand.

SPX never made International tool chests.

It was SPG, an entirely different company.
