Hey guys, I ran across this site a couple of weeks ago and enjoy seeing what everyone is up to. I am here to learn and also try to participate by offering my 2 cents when I think I can.
I have been in the racing and construction industry for the better part of 20 years...about equally split. HiTek is a spin off of a construction company I was involved in with my brother...he is still building homes...I was handling the remodeling end of the business which consisted of new garage construction, basement finishing and decks/screened porches. I was also a new home construction superintendent prior to that.
I am one to always try to find a different/better way to do things and use the latest technology and products and coupled with my love of anything with an engine decided to specialize in the enthusiast garage market.
I was a second mechanic for an IMSA Camel Light GTP car in the late 80's and had the priviledge of participating in the 24 Hours of Daytona and visiting victory circle in my first race....lots of fun but I quickly decided this line of work was not going to be conducive to my married life. Raced asphalt late models, go karts, open wheel modifieds....pretty much put the racing behind me, getting too old and cost way too much money.
Not sure if my life story was required but I figured a little background for the new guy would be a good idea.
