OK…First things first…been lurking for about 1 month. My wife thinks I’m crazy getting so excited about this garage forum. Some of you guys have absolutely incredible setups.

My plan is to remodel my current 2-car, 20’x23’ attached garage. Built in 2006. Space is at a premium...no outside storage per HOA. Must be functional for car and bicycle maintenance, plus limited storage.

Here is the way ahead…
1. Phase I: Clean/organize & develop plan.
2. Phase II: Paint walls.
3. Phase III: Address floor.
4. Phase IV: Address storage.
5. Phase V: Address lighting.

Attached are some current pictures…

Look forward to the ride…

Thanks in advance...

Bob

First decision is the overall theme. There are so many nice garages in here that it is hard to make a decision…

The 14 year old Miata is now “claimed” by my 18 year old son. Not much Miata left in it…we’ve upgraded most of it over the years.

Kbs2240 - Good call. You are spot on. I went even higher…all the way to the attic with some of the stuff. Under the house with other stuff.

Are you allowed by you HOA to have a child's playhouse in your yard. I worked with a guy who built a playhouse for his lids, but in all reality it was really a shed for his mower and storage. Just don't let anyone on the HOA board of directors see it. It worked for him.

Gave my Maita to my son when he turned 16. Lowered 16 X 205 with air ram intake with 50k on the odometer. Got a lot of **** from the chick car crowd, but admitted it was the best car he's ever had.

No doubt...I'm sure they're a hoot to drive. Like a moped or a fat girl, you don't want your friends to see you on one.

Yeah - I’m used to the ribbing that comes with owning a Miata. We doubled the horsepower w/ a supercharger, plus lots of handling enhancements. It scampers in the tight stuff (autocross).

Bob,

Must. See. Cobra. Pictures. :drool::drool::drool:

Looks like a good start! My wife actually stopped talking to me last night due to the fact that every sentence I uttered contained the word "garage" yesterday!!!

Bob,

AWESOME Cobra and Miata.

I find it...telling... that so many Miata owners mention (and participate in) auto-x, while the nay-sayers remain focused only on looks and their insecurities of others' ill-informed preconceptions :)

For the Record: I own 3 Miatas (stock 05MSM, MP62 10AE, and a 95M with FM IV turbo), and have owned at least 16 others in the past...as well as Corvettes, Camaros, Novas, Elise, F430, 308GTS, and of course, my 1-ton dually pickups :)

Good luck with the garage build. I'm subscribed.
