Hello, garage journal! I grew up turning wrenches with my dad in the garage and doing projects around the house. That experience guided me to my current career. I'm an engineer but chose a job that gets me out from the behind the desk, affording plenty of time in the machine shop and out in the field. Having 10 different addresses in the last 15 years though makes it hard to hold on to anything but the most essential tools. Living in Hawaii brings unique challenges, too: I don't have much of a garage to speak of- it's really just a carport, and unused tools and hardware don't really last in the salt air. I'll, hopefully, be moving to new house and my very first garage, in the next few months. I'm interested to see what I can find out here as I make the change.
