I finally joined, been a lurker for a long time. Moved into this house about a year ago and have been slaving away working nonstop for years. Kids are almost all out of the house and I thought I’d finally start building my dream garage. I collected some cars over the years and bought a maxjax lift. I’m not a concrete expert so I thought I would go overkill with having a concrete guy come in and do two 4x4’ 12”deep pads with rebar. They quoted me 1600 bucks which seemed high but they some good reviews. I got along with the guy when he came out and was telling me it’s an easy job for them to do.
I couldn’t take the day off but I have a cam in the garage so it captured their work on one of the pads. Of course they got paid and off they went. I came home and checked the cam footage. Looks like all they did was Jack hammer a 4x4 square and cleaned out the largest chunks leaving the smaller chunks, added some dry bags and spread it around and then covered it up with 5 or 6 bags they mixed with water.
I uploaded about an hour of them doing the second pad to YouTube. I’d appreciate any opinions. I’m thinking I’m going to need to have another more reputable company come out to redo everything and contact my lawyer.
