Re: drill press

Welcome to the GJ.

May I suggest you update your profile with a location (other than your Home) as in future you may find that helps. Specially given this is a very global forum. Often you will find subjects may get different answers depending on locations and regulations.

I see you also have a post in General Tool Discussion and that may be where you will get the best answer.

Re: drill press

If you are patient, you can find good deals like this one I bought on Craigslist. I'm thinking I paid around $125 for this 1948 Atlas in mint condition earlier this year.

Re: drill press

Whoops. Just realized this is the intro thread.

Yes, this thread should probably be in the tools Forum. But hey...

I have one of the cheapest drill presses there is, and I've had excellent luck with it. The chuck was always a little wobbly (about .012), but I was able to find a perfect chuck at a garage sale.

He has another post about the same thing >

Re: drill press

Ya, location would help. For instance, I work at a company that sells used equipment cheap. But we are in Ohio. Don't know what your proximity is. If far away, shipping costs would make it cost prohibitive.
