I would be up for a meet and greet! I live in Anderson Twp. area. let me know if you want to plan something and I would be happy to help anyway I can.

I'm originally from around the same area and graduated from Anderson H.S/Live Oaks Vocational. Pretty small world sometimes.

Back to the thread...Great work on the stands.

Dan, thanks! I'm glad you like them!

Got my pair of them. One in my office and the other in my living room.
Very nice.

BF, Thanks! Sorta funny, my wife wants a few more for friends in her office that want them after seeing them, and she's already come back with some other ideas she says I need to design/make.. stay tuned on that one..

My wife wants a few more stands for her buddies, so I'll be running another batch if anyone still wants one..

This is how to display this. A stand that badass deserves to display someone as badass as the one and only Chip Foose!

Do you mind if I steal your design some and make my own? Been looking for some projects for my new mill, and a few of these out of UHMW would be good practice and handy.

Way awesome! Have you posted pics of your shop/machines anywhere? I am fascinated with machining, it is amazing what can be done. We have a cnc mill out in our shop here at work but nobody knows how to use it, I would love to have time to learn to use one. Until then, I like seeing what others can do.

+1 on the design steal :) I'm starting out on CNC and am very much an amateur. I'd love to get a copy of the file so I can see how you did it and learn. I'd even be willing to pay you for it :)

Thanks for all the comments..

Given the positive comments and feedback, I'm trying to take it the next step using a incubator company called "Kickstarter". It's been on all the major news channels as a way for startup's to try and get going. Please check it out and tell your friends. The link is http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/keslercustoms/counter-top-ipad-stand?ref=live

As always, feel free to contact me.. I'm a gear head at heart.. :>

I got mine last week. Picture of my wire and I using it as a recipe stand while making bagels. Nice product, best of luck.

Wait I just saw the kick starter and found out that they come in red. I feel cheated. Just kidding.

Glad you like it!! I haven't done the colored ones yet. I'm offering them on Kickstarter so if I get enough people, I can run a batch through the anodizer and do the different colors. My plan is to bead blast them, and then do the anodize/colors to give a matte finish. The other thing I'm kicking around is laser engraving them after anodizing to give it a different look too..

I got the new mill up and fully running and shot some powder on one of the stands and then milled the chamfers.. Gave it a different look.. Wife told me to make some pink ones so ordered some hot pink powder and will do those this weekend along with some gloss black ones. Sorta weird calling the powder guy and asking what he's got in hot pink.. :> I've got a small anodizing setup and will see what they look like in a matte finish also.

Thanks, I was using a Tormach PCNC 1100. Great machine, but I recently got a Haas VF2. Toolchanger and the higher RPM is a major help..
