IR 119max is a beast

Had to reseal a piston on my 4in1 bucket and I couldn’t get the gland nut off. I tried a gland nut wrench with a 3/4 breaker bar, spanner wrench with a big sledge. Busted out the torch got it hot and soaked it with kroil. Nothing. Ripped 3 vices off my work benches need to bolt them onto a steel plate now. Tried el cheapo harbor freight air hammer and it wouldn’t budge. Figured I’d give the 119 and chance and ordered one. Hooked it up with 1/2” air hose and blasted it off. It cut half the gland nut off but it got it. I am impressed. I wish I had it when I had to unfreeze my bobcat quick tach pins

The 119 is sweet, and not expensive. Can't think of a thing to fault it for.
Been working on testing and developing a prototype .401 shank air hammer, and to be honest 119 is a hard act to follow. It's just good.

I have the 118 and it has made many larger cylinder glands move. It’s also fucked a few up lol but they deserved it for not coming loose.

works great on spinning out stripped out drain plugs or other fasteners as well. The trigger control is exactly what a mechanic needs for delicate air hammer work.

I made my decision based on the TTC video thanks guys for all you do. Next big hurdle is the piston nut. My 2767 impact didn’t work but I was using a 3/4 to 1/2” adapter so I’m sure that stole some torque.

The 2767 isn’t what it’s cracked up to be, doesn‘t even match a real 1/2” air impact.

Depending on cylinder size a 3/4 to 1” impact is needed and for the larger stuff you’re talking about a hydraulic cylinder bench to break that nut loose. The only stuff I’ve been able to use a 1/2 inch impact on successfully is very small cylinders off a utility tractor.

you might have luck going to a friendly local tractor or equipment shop and asking them if you can chuck the rod into a vise and break it loose with their larger impact, repack on your tailgate and have them tighten it.

Second going to a dealer and having them break it free or a cylinder shop if you have one in your area. We used to do it frequently for people at my previous dealer. I also built my own cylinder bench if your planning on doing this frequently, but you better be a decent welder as those rod piston nuts are put on with some serious power in bigger sizes and age.

Going to give the 1” aircat a shot tomorrow. If not I have access to a hytorq at work. Not a huge cylinder it’s off a skid steer 4in1 1 1/2” piston nut.

Thank you for being the only one to agree with me that the 2767 is not as great as they say. My ir 2235ti eats it for lunch. It’s good for what it is, but I found if it doesn’t immediately break a bolt free, it’s just not going to.

Finally found one a couple days ago as Amazon warehouse deal. Not a crazy savings but scored the "Kit" for $110 shipped, regular price is $140.
It's the kit with 5pc bits. Still wanting the hammer head bit as that not included.
Should be here next tuesday, no prime...

Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice thing to have when you are away from air but to expect it to completely replace a strong 1/2 gun is wishful thinking at best particularly once you move beyond the automotive realm. It also seems to be a lot more wobbly/wants to throw itself around and off the bolt more than a good air impact as well, particularly when using extensions or wobble sockets.

The pneumatic gun is also good bit smaller and that often makes a huge difference as well.

I think the 2767 is great but it didn't really blow my mind because I already had the IR W7150 (the older brushed one) for cordless and the Nitrocat 1250k and MG725 in air. Plus a bunch of really good smaller ones.

I'm more impressed with the Avidpower from Amazon because of how cheap it was. It was like 85 bucks and can knock 12 semi shock bolts loose and back on with only one bar of battery. That's pretty good IMHO since they're 15/16 heads and nylock. I end up reaching for it first to find its limit.

I tend to grab the free air impacts first for similar reasons. It's more fun to be impressed by something cheap and cheerful than "well, yeah" with something expensive.

The 2767 also rattles too much to want to use it when not required.

TTC tested them both on their channel. It's good but it's so expensive it's a tough sell, IMHO.

If you mean the electrics. That's my opinion.
