IR 2130 impact problem

I've got an IR 2130 1/2" impact wrench with a boo-boo. The ball in the anvil is depressed and won't hold the sockets on...

is this a owner fix or return to the service dealer ???

I've never seen one with a ball socket retainer, only a ring or pin. If it is the ring or pin style, replacement is very easy.

Try spraying it with some penetrating oil and then whacking it with a punch and hammer. If that doesn't work I think replacing the anvil would be a lot easier than removing the old retainer and staking a new one in. I think you should have no problems doing the work your self if it comes down to replacing any parts.
