IR 2135timax settings question

I bought a used Cornwell IRC-8000, which is a rebranded 2135. I have taken it apart to clean and re-grease the hammers, and re-lube the rotor. Today I used it on my car to remove the lug nuts. I set the buttons to reverse, and set the torque selector to max (all the way to the right) and it would not break the lug nuts loose at all. I then set the torque selector to min (all the way to the left) and it broke off all the lug nuts effortlessly. Am I not using torque selector correctly or did I not put it back together correctly? I know some brands of impacts use the selector all the way to the left for max reverse torque, but I thought IR was using same settings for forward and reverse settings.

The torque selector should only affect the torque for the forward direction. The reverse direction is always at max torque on the IR 2135TiMax.

The power selector only works for reducing power in forward, however, when in reverse, if you set the selector on the minimum setting you actually get slightly more power due to something in air motors called secondary exhaust, which is exhausting the air that is recompressing on the side of the motor that is not being used.

That being said, your 2135 should have no issue with your lugs, how is your air supply?

Thanks for replies. I have a Craftsman 60 gal compressor that has 11cfm @90psi flow. I use 3/8 line and fitting at the gun, but my limiting factor is a 1/4" connection at the pressure regulator which I'm going to replace next week.
