ir 231c question

I have searched and read alot of threads about the ir231c, and i am ready to buy one.I know they are now made in china because i was looking at boxs of them in sears and nothern tool,and it says made in china for ingersoll rand on the box.I am not trying to start coo war,but does any body know when they moved production to china.I am trying to figure out how realistic it would be for me to find a nos one.I plan to keep it for years and use it. So it would be worth it to me, to find a made in the usa one.I have searched and read but i have never seen mentioned,around what time/year they started being made in china?

there a millions of them out there, buy an used one. paid $25 for mine, still kicks ****.

i might just do that,I saw a usa one at a local pawn shop yesterday for $25,i almost bought it.

The boxes actually say Made in China By Ingersoll Rand and they still include some US content. If you want a US assembled product look for a 231USA, I think there are still some of those available.

Does anybody know if http://www.factoryauthorizedoutlet.com/ir/ is a reputable website? They are selling the ir231usa :edit nothing other than their name, implies that they actualy afiliated with the company
