IR 244 GREEN boot?

I just took apart a 244 for a rebuild. The boot looked black, but when I cut it off I realized it was just black from age/use, and it was originally green!

I checked a page of sellers from google, they only have the same blue boot. Does anyone know if the green one is still available?

Thanks.

Back in the day I helped put many of those together (thousands), and I really liked the tool. Didn't like that air diffuser on the exhaust though. The only green boot I can remember being offical wasn't made for the 244, but the IR 199 (if I got the model right- very limited production).

Our website offers the following on boots: http://www.irtools.com/IS/product_models.aspx-en-26474

In this day and age I wish we had more in way of easy accessible information online....it's a weak point. I always thought we should have an online store for accessories and parts. Just my opinion.

So I'd agree with Fedwrench if you must have green.

IR_GUY: Thanks for reading this. Protoco never got back to me, so I ordered a boot and rebuild kit from toolfetch.com. When it came, I was surprised to find a red boot (which I later saw in that link you just posted). All internet stores have the blue pic, but it looks like IR only makes red. I prefer red over blue anyway (although green might have been best).

I made another thread about the 244 rebuild with a question I had, if you want to take a look. Thanks. :)

PS: the guy who gave this to me said he liked the diffuser since the exhaust wouldn't hit the wheel and deflect into his face.

completely agree about IR having an online store for parts.I had to get my parts from Snap on cause IR redirects you to a local distributor to get parts.

Yeah, there's some legalize involved where we support our distributors and don't direct market. I think for parts and such it would be better if we did it direct; we'd have solid numbers for what people were replacing and maybe some direct contact with the end users. Like I said- my opinion (in case corporate is watching).
