I was given an IR 2706 A1 1/2" drive impact gun. While it does seem to work decent, It wont break a lugnut tightened to 90lbs loose. It is pretty clean, vanes are loose in the grooves and lubed well on the inside. Maybe some new vanes are needed??? Not sure if it is worth my time/cost to rebuild or find a stronger one.

Any feedback on this particular modek would be great as I cant seem to find anything on it.

Thanks in advance

I google'd that model # and came up with nothing from IR. Sure you got the model # right?

None the less, if you want a good 1/2" IR gun, sell that one and accept no substitutes....

Lightweight, quiet, and the strongest 1/2" Impact I've ever used in 15yrs of wrenching. This gun can be had for less than $200 if you shop around.

Not sure actually, It is an older 60 Gal, 6 HP, Single stage. easily maintains 110 PSI with the impact gun and air ratchets. It runs about 85PSI constant when running my DA sander.

Yes that gun is OOOOOLLLLDDDDD!! It's probably slap worn out. Most of IR's old stuff is pretty strong. You should easily be able to snap 90ft lb lugs loose if you're running 115psi through the air hose.

I'd check around and see how much it's worth. You might have a little pot of gold there. A few years back I snagged a super old Craftsman impact from a Pawn shop for $40. Wound up selling it to a tool collector for $350 and bought my new 2135ti IR impact with that money.

Do you know where I can get rebuild parts for this? I may try a new set of vanes just to see what it does.
