It's about time IR stepped back up (cue team red and team yellow) but damn, > $500 for a bare tool? Ouch! :wtf:

I look forward to some real life torque testing on a skidmore wilhelm.

Damn it, I was hoping Milwaukee would wear the crown a little longer. But looking at that price it doesn't seem like a practical option

Milwaukee with the crown? :D

That video is old. Milwaukee released a new model a year ago, the 2767, with 1400ft/lb of torque. It's the strongest impact out right now

Am I the only one so spoiled by my compact 1/2" guns light weight and tiny size that these cordless guns don't appeal to me at all?

No, you aren't the only one. I have a Milwaukee and a Dewalt cordless and very seldom use them for anything. My air tools are much lighter, so I reach for them first.

Didn't realize that. Has there been Skidmore Wilhelm testing done on the 2767 to confirm that?
Theres several videos of people doing torque tests, only a few that look trustworthy. Most showed it was actually a hair over 1400ft/lb

The new W7152 seems to be available now. Sells for around $300 usd for a bare tool.

https://www.ohiopowertool.com/p-194...0-cordless-impact-wrench-bare-tool-w7152.aspx

Interesting video where it out powers the Milwaukee. Basically 2 guns hooked together, turning in opposite directions. The Milwaukee has a head start but the IR overpowers it

What i like about them is the dial in the back. Simpler and more fool proof than the button style

I have a high torque dewalt that i keep on my cart in work, usually just for stuff like drivesaft bolts etc..

I find it way too big to fit in most spaces, the mid-torque milwaukee suffers from the same issue a lot of the time.

Compact air impacts are the way forward imo, for the car mechanic at least.

amazon is selling the Ingersoll Rand 1/2" 20V Cordless Impact, 1 Battery Kit, W7152-K12, (1) Battery Kit for $459.70

https://www.amazon.com/Ingersoll-Rand-Cordless-Impact-W7152/dp/B07L1MJ4Z6?th=1

But the Milwaukee 2767-20 M18 FUEL ½” Impact Wrench GENII with one battery and battery charger is cheaper if I buy each of the Milwaukee components separately. I will save about $125 to $150 if I buy the Milwaukee 2767-20 bare tool + 1 battery + battery charger.

Amazon isn't always a good source. Arctic tools has the K1 kit for a touch over $440.

Tonyuk, you need the Milwaukee M12 Stubby Impact Wrench Kit if your IR is too big. The stubby impact wrenches come in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 anvils. 3/8 and 1/2 anvil versions have 250 ft.-lbs. breakaway torque.

I have owned a corded IR impact wrench for a long time so I love IR but their cordless impact wrenches are too expensive. Milwaukee has been aggressively introducing new cordless tools.

Nope. When I saw the title, I was hoping it was going to be a lightweight composite 1/2" air impact.

Definitely not the only one. This thing is the cat's ***. Tiny and lots of torque

The advantage of cordless is no air hose.

The air vs. cordless are just different tools for different jobs. If I am at home in my garage and its a big project, sure fire up the compressor and run air tools. If I am at the track, at the pick-a-part, or a road side (not even my stupid trailer), I appreciate the portability.

For the record though, my next purchase is one of the "mini" air impacts. My previous 2 purchases were the DeWalt 1/2" 20V Max blahblah and the 3/8" 20V Max blahblah (and some new Tekton 3/8" metric deep impacts). I can't wait for spring.

Yep same here. I always used to fix my cars in my home garage where my compressor is, but home renos forced me to stuff all my patio stuff in the garage. So I am temporarily repairing cars out of my warehouse where I "shouldn't" be which is why I bought my IR 5152. It was pricey, but even as a teen I would save up for the better stuff to make sure it lasted.

My father was never mechanically inclined. He always had a mish mash of cheap tools that wouldn't last, and that always bothered me. Even as a teen something clicked in me to spend a little more on something that would last.

Agree though air and cordless have cross applications each has its place. In shop where your invested in a compressor pneumatic tools are pretty much a no brainer. Out on the farm where I work many places having electric power at my disposal is often a luxury and having air power is mostly an improbability :D

As the big cordless go, ya Milwaukee or Dewalt will do the job well for most people and cost less to get a kit.

Still the IR has it desirable features
