IR Garage Mate compressor tripping overload

Usage and Environment:
IR Garage Mate rests mostly unused in a horse stable, very open to moisture in the air. Gets used seldom, probably every 3 months, about 5 years old, and last good use was one month ago. I'm assuming 2hrs total on the run time in it's life, at most. Son-In-Law shows up and needs to air up tires and it's obviously dragging. Trips the overload twice and I'm saying it's done, use the air in there and get gone.

What's loading it down, in your opinion, to trip the overload? It's on a 20A/120v circuit with a very fat extension and I've already ruled those out because the unit's overload itself is tripping (the A/C motor reset turkey timer).

I'm thinking it's like an engine that's sat and the cylinders aren't happy with corrosion or something, but I'm not doing anything yet until I get some guidance from ya'll.

Original oil
Oil up to level in the sight glass
Doesn't run a lot, again assuming 2 hours total run time max
High moisture environment up here in cloud city right at 3,000ft, three months of the year based on days of total clouds at our level?

User states "Used about a month ago and noticed it wasn't up to par, did nothing about it, but didn't trip the overloads. 'Didn't purr like a kitten when rubbed well', May need a Garage Therapist"

And this is where I'm at, it's just now tripping the local motor overload's turkey timer button and don't want to push it again.

Ohhh kay. Going to pour some oil in there or some WD-40 for science. Air will be juicy for a while but what do I know about these things.

Nothing stands out to as why air compressors trip overloads?

Whats the temperature? My Emglo compressor will trip it's internal breaker if I try to run it when cold. I suspect the Lowes compressor oil I added is too thick when cold.

If it's a belt drive compressor try taking the belt off and make sure both the pump and motor spin freely.

Does it have trouble starting when the tank is under pressure or even if the tank has no pressure? A bad check valve will pressurize the pump thus the motor has to start under load.
