IR Impact Recomendation

I need a new impact Gun. I work at a small independent shop. We do tire change and brakes, engine swaps, clutches, valve jobs, Timing Belts and the like. I can get a great deal on the Snap On MG725, but for me it is too heavy and too loud.

I have heard some great things about IR. I am considering the 2131QT, and the 2125 QTi Max.

At 2.8 lbs, the 2125 sounds pretty awesome, but I am wondering if it has enough torque. I would hate to buy it and find it doesnt have the power to pull a harmonic ballancer bolt. At the same time, I dont work on trucks and dont want to pay for all this power that I really dont need, and lighter weight sounds great!

The 2135 is about 4lbs but has 780 lbs of torque.

If you have the 2125, could you please post some comments?

Thanks

I picked up a 2131QT the other week and i just love it! Its really quiet, pretty much all you hear is the air rushing through the gun, except for when the hammers are going. Has 600ft/lbs so its plenty. Put it to work changing out the control arms on an expedition. And the thing i like about it most is you can work with it in winter because it doesnt get cold like a steel bodied tool.

I have the Mac AW5500 which is the same as the IR 2135ti, I got it off ebay about a year and a half ago and it has never let me down. I almost went with the quiet one since that's what the guy next to me has but I wanted more torque and I got a steal on it, was brand new in the box and I got if for $112 shipping and everything. The guy next to me borrows mine occasionally when his won't break something loose but sometimes he still has to pull out a breaker bar.

What is the difference between a 2131 and a 2135? The 2131 can be bought at Sears for about 200. The 2135 is about 50 more if I buy it on line.

Thanks

The 2135TiMax has a titanium front end, a seven vane motor for better performance, an improved throttle valve design, updated trigger, reverse buttons, power dial and handle design and a 2 year warranty with registration.

Shop around for a 2135ti and call it good. I had many impacts before this one and I should have gotten this one first. I think I paid 200 NIB from ebay. I loved it so much I got the 2115ti as well. It's used for smalled things or for when I can't get the 2135 into a tight spot.
