I don't know anything about the particular model but IR guns are great. When searching for a 1/2" impact for personal use, everyone I asked recommended Ingersoll Rand. I got a cheap one from Lowes, its the 231g and just used it for the first time today and love it.

I remember them from the late 80's-early 90's as a scaled down 1/2" gun for bench work/transmissions etc. Not in the same power class as 231/AW234.
A lighter/gentler/handier 1/2" gun but never real popular in typical automotive.

I bought one of those brand new in the early 90s; decent gun, made in japan, economy gun for the era, heavy and not terribly powerful. Not a bad gun but not near the power of a classic 231 gun. I think I paid under $100 at the time new and sold it later for $50; I hardly used it as it didn't have the power I needed for shop use and it was really heavy!
