What is your main concern? Where it is made or quality? Not everything made in U.S. is good, and not everything made out of it is bad. SnapOn, Mac, Matco, Craftsman..... the list goes on, everybody sells stuff made overseas. Your priorities are off if it is just where it is made. Ingersoll Rand employs many American people, so does it really matter where it is made as long as it is quality?

I have a Blue-Point DA. It's Chinese but I could care less, I use it 5 days a week, it works, and it didn't cost a fortune. It was about $130. Don't let COO decide what to buy if you are using these tools to make a living. Leave that to the collectors, buy good **** that works and leaves you the money to do more than buy tools.

Take a look at Dynabrade and 3M. Both of those companies make top shelf DAs. As mentioned before, Hutchins makes very good DAs as well, but they are heavy and expensive.

What is the specific model you were considering? Where did you get the info saying it wasn't made in the USA?

I'm not saying you're wrong. I know there are IR items that aren't USA made.

As far as other brands-
Sioux is a brand of air tools owned by Snap-On. I believe they offer a lot of USA made air tools.

I should note, I don't know if Sioux offers the specific tool you're looking for (since you didn't say what you wanted), but it's worth a look.

I like the dynabrade stuff, very nice.

I like products made in USA, that's the only downfall of ingersoll.

I don't think IR has made tools in the USA for a long time; the only one I saw with "USA" was really old IR231's...

Seems like a lot of noobs on forum are importers of China tools eh?

I like Taiwan, but since your so judgemental, I thought I would bring up the fact that the computer you are using to write this message is Made In China, so like the bible says, dont judge the splinter in my eye when you have a big *** 2 by 4 in yours.

Oh Jesus, go buy some Gearwrench ratchets and tell me that USA made Craftsman 44811 is better. If you think it is, quit using tools and take up needlepoint.

China isn't Taiwan or Japan. Even tools made in China aren't as bad as they were ten years ago.
