Need some input on this unit. Not sure if I should pull the trigger or if I should pony up and buy something new. For a 33 year old compressor it looks like it's in good shape but ..........

It's for a home shop. Some blast cabinet duty - no painting or da sanding. My budget would top out at $1,300 for a new unit.

Just wondering if this is a good deal and I could save the balance and put it towards a two post lift, or play it safe and buy a new one.

And if I do go for it what should I look for as far as possible problems?

Let me know what you think.

Going by the stated amp draw, that looks more like 5hp. Cosmetically looks good, so could be low hours. Worth a closer look I'd think.

Both the amp rating and the pump model number indicate its a 3 HP.

I'm sure the "35/17" is "120/240V".

It probably puts out 7 CFM.

For some reason I thought it was priced at $1,300. At $500 you can still do better, because you're going to be buying a second compressor or replacing it. It's a small pump on a big tank. I would expect it to take 17-18 minutes to fill from 0-175 and 3 minutes to fill from 145-175.
